| Katoa plays the game with heart, passion and no fear. Katoa is fantastic on the blitz, displaying great skills of timing, anticipation and instincts. He is a brutal and physical hitter that shows excellent fundamentals when it comes to tackling. Katoa fights off blocks well and gets to the ball. He chases sideline to sideline and moves well laterally. Katoa is quick, has excellent speed and is very strong. |
| Biography: |
| As a junior, Katoa recorded (90 solo) 109 tackles, 13 sacks, and four forced fumbles playing at middle linebacker and defensive end. It was his first year playing football. He was named second team all-region and all-state. He benches 315 pounds, squats 335 and has a 30-inch vertical jump.
He reports a 3.2 core GPA and a 17 ACT.
Katoa: "I am a sideline-to-sideline player. I have good speed and am a good blitzing linebacker. I like just getting out there and getting it done. I just get the job done. I have great speed (4.6 forty) and play hard and that's why I had 60 tackles for loss. I think speed beats power and I also have great technique and don't let anybody beat me." Katoa says one of the biggest things he needs to work on is "knowing the game" better. "I want to read the offensive lineman better and not flinch or blink and give anything away. I also want to work on staying low when tackling."
