Colorado recruiting has been stuck in the mud of uncertainty around the program for weeks, but it got a little traction today with the third commitment of the 2011 cycle. Get inside for more.

Nick Sherry, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound quarterback from Casa Grande High School in Petaluma, Calif., chose the Buffs after a conversation with coach Dan Hawkins.

"He talked to coach Hawkins and decided that he wanted to make it happen," Case Grande coach Trent Herzog said. "Nick is very excited and we're excited and proud of him."

Sherry is a two-star recruit, according to Scout.com experts. His only other official offer was from San Diego State, though Arizona, Washington and Washington State all were recruiting him intensely.

Sherry completed 161 of his 288 attempts for 2,449 yards and 24 touchdowns and 13 interceptions during his junior season. Sherry led his team to an 11-2 record and a runner-up finish after a loss in the CIF Championship game.

Sherry is the second quarterback to commit to the Buffs in this cycle, though the first, Dexter Foreman, could be in line for a position change in Boulder.
