Buffs Say Aloha Hawaii

Posted Dec 13, 2007

Colorado and Hawaii have inked a four-game home-and-home series, both schools announced Thursday.

Under head coach Dan Hawkins, the Colorado Buffaloes have refocused their efforts at recruiting the state of Hawaii. In coming seasons, Buffaloes from Hawaii will be able to stampede in front of family and friends.

Hawaii will play at Folsom Field in Boulder Sept. 18, 2010 and again on Sept. 20, 2014.

Colorado will travel to the Aloha state to face Hawaii Sept. 3, 2011 and Sept.. 5, 2015.

Hawkins' Boise State teams played at Hawaii on a regular basis, and the can said travel logistics to the island state could take a toll on a team. That's why he and his staff wanted to make their visits to Hawaii as those seasons' opening dates, when the impact on the season is minimized.

It will mark the first meeting between the two programs since 1925.
