This season, at his new school, he is only playing receiver where he has 27 catches for 634 yards and eight touchdowns. He also has rushed 15 times for 145 yards and three touchdowns. "I am great at route-running and getting open," professes Celestine.
He has written offers from Auburn, Colorado, Grambling, Mississippi, UCLA, and Louisiana-Lafayette. "My favorite school is Miami but I have not heard from them since I attended their junior day. After the season I am going to compile a highlight tape and send it to them to see if they become interested. Of the schools that have offered, Auburn and Colorado are at the top.
"I don't know too much about Auburn. I like their coach and that is where my mom wants me to go. I will visit there soon.
"Colorado tells me I can play early. They tell me I can basically play as a freshman. I am going to visit there the first weekend after the playoffs are over for us."
Mamou is 7-2 and has one more game before the playoffs start.
Coach Romeo Bandison is after Celestine for the Buffs. The two met when Bandison came by the school a while back. "I speak with Coach Bandison about every week."
Besides CU and Auburn, the receiver says he will probably visit Mississippi.
Celestine carries a 2.67 core GPA and would like to major in Psychology.
The CU staff is scouring the nation looking for some wideouts that can come in and compete immediately. Kendrick Celestine is a dynamic player from the south the Buffs have been on for a while and it looks as if he will visit Boulder in the near future.
