Ryan Walters came back from an injury two weeks earlier and had four tackles and two interceptions — his first two career picks — in the win over Texas Tech. Walters, a sophomore, was named Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Week, along with Texas defensive end Tim Crowder.
Meanwhile, senior placekicker Mason Crosby rebounded from a rough outing the week before against Baylor and kicked three field goals and three extra points in CU's win over the Red Raiders.
Two of Crosby's field goals were from beyond 50 yards, including a 56 and 53 yarder. He is the second kicker in the country this season with two field goals from 50-plus yards, and now has 12 such kicks in his career.
Oklahoma State wideout Adarius Bowman was awarded the offensive award.
It was Walters' first conference player of the week award. However, it was the eighth time Crosby has been given the special teams notice.
Crosby's award sets the Big 12 Conference record for a player earning a player of the week award. Crosby snapped a four-way tie between himself, Ricky Williams (Texas), Eric Crouch (Nebraska) and Kliff Kingsbury (Texas Tech).
