Hamilton Plans On Official Visit to Colorado

Hamilton sacks the quarterback

Colorado has verbal commitments from a few good men, but they have yet to grab that ever-elusive defensive tackle. The top D-tackle that they appear to have the best chance with at this point is four star El Paso, Texas star Dominique Hamilton. The Texan is high on the Buffs and says CU is one of the schools recruiting the hardest.

Dominique Hamilton now has written offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and UTEP.

He says four schools are currently showing the most love. "I'd say Arizona State, Nebraska and Missouri are recruiting me the hardest right now," Hamilton explains. "Colorado is coming on pretty strong too."

Hamilton had planned on visiting Colorado this summer but that will not happen. However, it will happen in time. "I definitely plan on taking one of my official visits there. I have not scheduled any yet. I will probably wait to schedule them after the season starts."

The big D-tackle is working hard getting ready for the season. "I have just been lifting weights and running a lot. I am getting faster. I am not going to any other camps so I am just working out trying to get better."

His favorites' list has been tweaked a little. "Missouri is still number one and they are followed by Texas A&M. Colorado is in third, then Nebraska, and the last slot is between Tech and ASU. The coaches I talk to the most are Coach (running backs coach Brian) Jones at Missouri and the coach from Nebraska."

He says that he text messages fairly often with the Colorado staff. He is being recruited to CU by Defensive Line Coach Romeo Bandison.

Michigan State is another school that has recently been showing a lot of interest in Hamilton.

The west Texas star says he wants to take all five of his visits before deciding.

Hamilton insists his decision will come down to a few key factors. "I would like to see some early time on the field. I also want to feel comfortable with where the school is located and how the school is academically."
