High School: Los Altos
As a senior, Chapelle Brown had 42 catches for over 800 yards and nine touchdowns. He also had 10 carries for 118 yards and one touchdown. On defense, he had 25 tackles and eight interceptions. He is also the starting point guard for the Los Altos basketball team where he averages 23 points a game.
Colorado has recruited him as a cornerback and he is currently the only one in the class. "On defense, I put great pressure on receivers and cover very well," Brown boasts. "I can also break on the ball well. I love to compete."
Los Altos Head Coach Greg Gano says of Brown, "Chapelle is a big leaper, he is only 5-9 but he can slam dunk a basketball. He is also plenty fast. He could play on either side of the ball (in college)."
Colorado was the only school to offer Brown. "It is because of my size. But, I play a lot bigger than 5-8 and I can out-jump anyone so it doesn't bother me."
Boulder was the only college campus he visited. "I liked it a lot up there. They play against the best teams in the country every year in the Big 12 conference. That is the level I want to be at."
Brown is fully qualified.
