Perez Set to Sign with Colorado

There is one commit in the CU class that did not get cold feet when Gary Barnett was fired. Compton Community College Running Back Thomas Perez will sign with Colorado. He turned down some nice offers to be a Buff.

Height: 6-1
Weight: 210
40 time: 4.4
From: Compton, California
High School: Compton Dominguez Hills
College: Compton Community College

"Colorado is the place I have wanted to go for a while," Thomas Perez said. "It is the best place for me no matter who the head coach is. They were the first school that jumped on me and I have been with them from the start."

Perez also had written offers from Washington, Nebraska, Michigan State, Boise State, Colorado State, and Idaho.

He was named second team all-conference this fall after rushing for 928 yards and 11 touchdowns. "I missed two and a half games with an ankle injury."

What kind of back is CU getting? "I am a big back and an every down back. I am quick when I need to be and nobody can catch me in the open field."

Perez will be in Boulder this spring and will have three years to play two. He receives his Associate Arts degree after classes end this Friday.
