Colorado Offers Greg Banks

Greg Banks is one of the handful of players in Colorado this year that is being recruited on a national level. He recently was offered by the Buffs and just yesterday, Arizona offered him. Colorado was his favorite school growing up, now that they have offered are they the clear-cut favorite?

Many schools have came by Montbello High School this spring, according to Greg Banks. "Oklahoma coach Chris Wilson came by two weeks ago and gave me a verbal offer," he explained. "He just needed to pull my grades. He now says that they'll be sending me a written offer that I should have here soon. Syracuse is coming by tomorrow. Kansas State, Iowa State, Nebraska, Colorado, and UCLA have all been by."

Previously, Banks had written offers from Nebraska and Kansas State. "Colorado and Kansas State have offered me in writing now. Oklahoma is about to."

The BSN also learned that the Arizona Wildcats offered yesterday.

So how do his favorites stack up? "Oklahoma is number one, then Colorado, then Kansas State, then Nebraska, Iowa State and UCLA are numbers five and six."

One school has really let Banks know they want him. "Kansas State is coming on real strong. They are sending me and my parents a lot of letters."

OU has special plans for Banks if he ends up in Norman. "Coach Wilson has told me that they could use me as a defensive tackle because I have the size to be one. He sees me as a fast defensive tackle so they would put me in certain pass-rushing, speed package situations."

The only camp Banks will attend this summer is the Iowa State camp with his teammates. He could not make Colorado's Junior Day because he didn't have a ride. "R.J. Sanders was supposed to take us but then he didn't go."

Stay tuned on Banks, as there is no doubt he will see many more offers in the near future.
