Barnett and Todd to Sign December 15th

Alvin Barnett

With the recent passing of a new rule, JC players only need 12 hours to transfer to a four year school. Therefore, Alvin Barnett and Chris Todd will be signing with CU on December 15th and will be available for spring ball.

"That is the plan," said Barnett (6-0, 180, 4.4). "Chris and I just have to take another intermission course during winter break and we will be good to go and will be at Colorado in early January."

The main reason both players are able to do this besides passing all of their courses at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, is because they have passed the ACT. Barnett scored a 19 and Chris scored an 18. The two will have four years to play three in Boulder. Todd and Barnett were in their position rotations as true freshman this year.

Todd (6-3, 280, 4.7) is expected to compete for a starting position next to Vaka Manapuna with the graduation of Matt McChesney. Barnett is expected to compete for playing time with the graduation of Ron Monteihl and Mike Duren. "I want to get in there, learn the system, and try to be a player for them."

The two will take their official visits to CU this weekend.

Both are trying to help Colorado recruit a player from their former high school, linebacker Popsey Floyd. "Popsey is a great player and I spoke with him last week. He wants to come here."

Floyd will be visiting Boulder on December 18th.

NEO finished the year at 4-5.
