Juniors to Watch: Cherry Creek


Coach <b>Greg Critchett</b> told us about seven players he has next year that he expects to get looked at for the next level. Creek went 7-4 last season but looks to improve on that with the talent it possesses. One player returning is 6-3, 210 pound free safety <b>Adam Block</b>. Block finished second in the state last year in interceptions with seven.

6-3, 210 pounder Adam Block runs the 40 in 4.65 seconds. He has a 245 pound bench, 230 clean, and a 400 squat. His junior season he had 63 tackles, three forced fumbles, and the aforementioned seven int's.

"He certainly passes the eyeball test," says Coach Critchett. "He plays the run very well and really does everything well."

Mark Moss is a 5-8, 170 pound receiver who runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds. He has a 230 bench, 400 squat, and 230 clean. He had 13 receptions for 153 yards and also had 66 yards rushing last year.

"His older brother now at Air Force was also a good tailback for us. Mark is good in space and has a nice first step. He is a very tough, strong player."

Steve Michon is a 5-11, 185 pound running back that runs the 40 in 4.48 seconds. He has a 245 bench and a 245 clean. Last year he had 86 carries for 523 yards and two touchdowns.

"He has great breakaway speed."

Brent Dickinson is a 5-11, 170 pound receiver who runs the 40 in 4.6 seconds. He has a 230 bench and a 230 clean. Last year he had 25 receptions for 257 yards. He also carried the ball twice for 37 yards.

"He is an intelligent player and I really think he is going to do some things for us this year."

Jacob Zapp is a 6-5, 290 pound offensive tackle prospect who runs the 40 in 5.7 seconds. He has a 260 bench, 230 clean, and a 415 squat.

"He is getting better with his foot speed everyday. We switch things up a lot with the run and the pass and he is really becoming a better pass blocker."

Taj Kaynor is a 6-7 235 pound offensive tackle/defensive end prospect that runs the 40 in 5.12. He had 50 tackles, four sacks, and two fumble recoveries as a junior.

"He runs well and has good quickness for his size."

Nick Walsh is a 6-0, 240 pound defensive tackle who runs the 40 in 5.25 seconds. He has a 260 bench, 240 clean, and 470 squat. Mick had 45 tackles and four sacks as a junior.

"He has done some nice things for us and he is getting a lot stronger."
