Head coach Tad Boyle and junior point guard Spencer Dinwiddie represented Colorado today at the Pac-12 Media Day in San Francisco. Earlier in the day, the 2013-2014 Pac-12 Preseason Poll was released, here are the results:

1. Arizona 2. UCLA 3. Colorado 4. Oregon 5. California 6. Stanford 7. Arizona State 8. Washington 9. Utah 10. Oregon State 11. USC 12. Washington State

Dinwiddie was asked about how he felt with Arizona receiving 21 of the 23 first place votes. The always confident Dinwiddie shared his take on who he believes is the best team in the Pac-12.

“I would probably say what Coach is thinking,” Dinwiddie said. “He'll be more politically correct, and I'm going to try to be polite as well. But we don't view Arizona as the top, the cream, and everybody else in the rest. We view ourselves as the cream and everybody else can fight for the rest of the spots. And that's how we're going to approach the season and we're going to try to win all of our games.”

Dinwiddie isn’t lacking in confidence. Not one bit. Boyle responded after Dinwiddie’s quote with “confidence has never been one of Spencer's problems.” Dinwiddie’s confidence stems from his play on the court. He’s Colorado’s undisputed best player. The 6-foot-6 guard has started every game since he set foot on campus in Boulder. He was Colorado’s leading scorer last year. He also led the team in assists.

Arizona and Colorado played a controversial game last year, when a last-second shot by sabatino chen was waived off and led to Colorado losing to Arizona in overtime. Colorado won the next game between the programs in Boulder. Arizona then defeated Colorado in the Pac-12 Tournament. An already exciting matchup between Arizona and Colorado got even more exciting.

Dinwiddie obviously feels Colorado is being overlooked in the Pac-12. He’ll get his chance to back up his sentiments on January 2nd, when Colorado opens Pac-12 play against Oregon State. More specifically, Dinwiddie will get his chance to dethrone Arizona as the team to beat in the Pac-12 on January 23rd in Tucson.

SCOTT’S WORK ETHIC IMPRESSES BOYLE

“Josh Scott had the best off season of any player I have ever been around in my 19 years of coaching.”

LURKING IN THE SHADOWS

Askia Booker received praise from Boyle.

“Booker can make shots,” Boyle said. “He is definitely an X Factor for us, he sometimes gets lost in the shadows of Dinwiddie and others.”

BOYLE TALKS ABOUT TEAMS YOUTH

“We are coming off the bench with puppies,” Boyle said. We have 10 freshmen and sophomores on this team. We have a lot of youth in this program that we have to develop.”

BUFFS SUCCESS ON THE COURT HELPING IN RECRUITING

“Our success had definitely helped us in recruiting, Boyle said. “We are in the conversation and living rooms of some of the top players in the country, our recruiting has definitely improved.”

BOYLE NOT SHY ABOUT HOW HE FEELS ABOUT HIS BASKETBALL TEAM

“I will go on the record saying how much I love this team and what I think they can accomplish.”
