Scout.com: What were your stats/honors from last season?

Alex Anderson: "I don't believe that I earned any to be honest which is a bit upsetting. More of a reason to be hungrier this season."

What is your official height and weight?

"Official weight is 292 the last time I checked and height is 6' 4 3/4."

What is your greatest football memory?
"Probably getting moved to varsity freshman year and winning state. Or making my first varsity start against PV."

What are your goals for the upcoming season?
"Get offers, go undefeated and win state."

How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer?
"I'm just working really hard both in the weight room and in the books got to get right for Spring. And I will be attending the ASU camp and also UofA camp."

What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would you like to keep improving on?
"I have been working on my speed and footwork. Also strength. I would like to continue to improve on all of these."

Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?
"Returning OL/DL starter Peter Mettler, 3 year starter QB Luke Rubenzer, and 2 year starter WR/DB Christian Kirk."

Name one teammate you really respect and why?
"Probably Pete. We've been through a lot both on and off the field together. If I could pick anyone to keep as a brother it'd be that man right there."

What are your goals regarding playing football in college?
"I'd like to go to college and play anywhere I can to get on the field. I'd like to know that I can make an immediate impact in a team the moment I learn the program."

Who is currently recruiting you? Do you have any offers yet?
"I don't have any offers but schools like Arizona State, Arizona, and Colorado have been keeping in touch as far as recruiting."

Would you consider staying in state to play in college?
"If I can I would love to stay in state and play in front of a home crowd. But in the end it's about where best suits me."

What would your top 5 college choices be?
"In no order: ASU, UofA, Colorado, UCLA, and Nebraska."

Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?
"Well no one as an individual but the Chaparral d-line is very good."

Name one opponent who you really respect and why?
"Jarek Hilgers from Desert Vista... That guy can run."

What other sports do you play?
"I haven't played anything else yet in high school but before this I played baseball and I enjoyed it very much."

What are your best max lifts in the bench, squat, power clean and 40 yard dash?
"My best max bench is 295, best squat is 465, power clean is 275, and best 40 was a 5.4. But I haven't ran one since sophomore year so it's definitely faster than that now."

How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?
"Smart, hard working football player with good technique."

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
"Strengths are my ability to learn and adapt to new things. Weakness would be pad level."

Who is your favorite athlete and why?
"My favorite athlete is Ray Lewis. He's such an inspiration with all that he's been through and all that he's had to overcome and still accomplish what he has."

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
"Don't let anybody tell you that you can't do something."

Tell us what can we expect from your team this season?
"An explosive offense that is gonna score quickly and punish at the line of scrimmage. Defensively we are gonna play alignment and assignment football."

What position do you think you will play in college?
"I think that I will play an offensive guard or get moved somewhere to defense."

What can a college program expect from you as a player?
"They can expect someone who strives to be the best and someone who is willing to do anything to get on the football field and help the team."

What is your GPA and SAT/ACT score?
"My current GPA is a 2.96 and I haven't taken the SAT/ACT tests yet."

What will the main factors be when you choose a school?
"The sports medicine program, contact with family, and obviously the football program as well."
