Jackson takes in 1st crosstown rivalry

DB Adoree Jackson

Gardena (Calif.) Serra defensive back Adoree Jackson is one of the nation's top players in the 2014 class. Jackson took in the UCLA-USC game over the weekend and said he's now giving the Bruins a serious look.

Adoree Jackson is currently rated the top defensive back in the West for the class of 2014. He's an elite athlete and could be the state's top corner right now. USC, along with LSU have always been at the top of his board but UCLA could join the party now.

"That was my first time ever going to a UCLA game but it definitely won't be my last," Jackson said. "I'll be honest, I was shocked UCLA won, I didn't think they had a chance. USC came out flat and UCLA was fired up and ready to play, you could tell that right a way.

"It's not that I didn't think UCLA was a good team, I just thought they would struggle with USC's receivers and passing game. UCLA's defense was tough, they pressured Barkley and I don't think the play calling was that great for USC. They should have run the ball more but props to UCLA for sure."

Jackson said the game atmosphere made it a fun event to be at.

"It was crazy there," Jackson said. "The fans were all hyped the whole game and the players were getting everyone involved. They had the 12th man going right there, it was a lot of fun to be a part of. UCLA was one of my first offers and I've always liked them but that win definitely moved them up my list a lot.

"Next week, they play Stanford and USC is hosting Notre Dame, I'm not sure what game to be at. It would be great to be at both but I don't know if I could do that. I think both L.A teams will pull out wins next week, it won't be easy but I have confidence in them."
