Chaminade @ No. 16 Notre Dame

In a battle of two of the top running backs in the Southern Section,
Chaminade's Terrell Newby looks to carry his team past Khalfani Muhammad's Notre
Dame team that has been on a role since an opening week loss to Serra.
Muhammad is a sprinter playing football and the Knights do a good job of trying
to get him into space. Newby is a more complete back with quick feet and power
in a compact frame. Muhammad is joined by several D1 prospects including
offensive linemen Leroy Tanoai (6'4/280/Utah) and Kyle Sulka (6'4/255). Knight
quarterback Kelly Hilinski (6'6/220) recently picked up an offer from Colorado.
Speaking of Colorado, Newby is joined by Buffalo commitment Elijah Dunston.
Prediction: Chaminade has had two weeks to get ready for Notre Dame after
being handled by Oaks Christian. In what should be a close game, I'll give Notre
Dame the edge with a more balanced offensive attack.
No. 6 St. Bonaventure @ Westlake
9/28 7PM PST
http://www.foxsportswest.com/pages/prepzone
Last year this would have been the game of the week, if not the month. But
Westlake has fallen on hard times. A year removed from representing the South in
the State Open Championship Bowl game, Westlake has been on the wrong end of
consecutive blowouts by La Serna and Crespi. Running back/Defensive back Dashon Hunt is still the marquee name for the Warriors, but he hasn't been getting a
lot of help lately.
St. Bonaventure is coming off of a disappointing, but valiant loss to Santa
Margarita in which the Seraphs had the chance to pull ahead with a two point
conversion late in the fourth, but running back Zachary Green was stopped just
shy of the endzone. Green put on an impressive display last week, and the
Arizona commitment is simply relentless with the ball in his hand. Sophomore
quarterback Ricky Town has superstar written all over him as he calmly stands in
the pocket and delivers strikes.

Performance from last week (video)
Prediction: The phrase throw the records out could come into play here as
Westlake gets focused against a league opponent, and St. Bonaventure is poised
for a letdown after an emotional game last week. But the Seraphs are simply too
good to expect a Westlake upset here.
Culver City (3-1) @ No. 17 Bishop Amat (4-0-1)
9/28 7PM PST
http://www.foxsportswest.com/pages/prepzone
Receiver Julius Winston (6'1/180) leads Culver City's attack. He has a host
of offers including Cal, Nebraska, Washington, and Washington State. While Duke
commitment Darren Andrews (5'10/160) has been coming up big on both sides of the
ball for Bishop Amat, including on Prepzone against Servite to open the season.
Athlete Dionza Blue (6'0/175) has become the primary running back for Amat, and
he has taken like a duck to water. Big 6'4/185 Joseph Cook hasn't gotten any
scholarship offers yet that we know of, but he simply continues to make plays.
Prediction: Culver City's record has been padded by some lesser opponents,
and Bishop Amat should be able to beat the Centaurs handily.
Steele Canyon (1-3) (San Diego) @ Canyon (3-1)
9/28 7PM PST
http://www.foxsportswest.com/pages/prepzone
Canyon's Drew Wolitarksy (6'3/200) is one of the best wide receivers in
California that most people don't know about. Wolitarsky has set official visits
to San Jose State and Army, and he has already visited Minnesota. Wolitarsky has
helped Canyon score over 50 points per game.
Prediction: Canyon's big play offense should be enough to send Steele Canyon
home 1-4.
