Buffs make history in Kansas City

Senior Cory Higgins led the Colorado Buffaloes to an historic win in the program's history today defeating Kansas for the third time this season 87-75 to advance to the Big 12 tournament semifinals for the first time in history.

Colorado was 0-9 in Big 12 tournament quarterfinal games prior to today, but it finally managed to advance to the semifinals in its final year in the conference before moving to the Pac-12.

Cory Higgins scored 28 points, taking over the game in the second half to lead all scorers. Alec Burks scored 24, including 16 in the first half.

Andre Roberson produced a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. He hit key free throws down the stretch and was a key factor for CU snagging important rebounds in crucial situations.

Senior Marcus Relphorde was the fourth Buff to socre in double figures with 10 points. He also made several key plays down the stretch.

Four Kansas State players scored in double figures led by Curtis Kelly and Jacob Pullen, each with 18.

The Buffs will play top-seeded Kansas in the semifinals on Friday.
